Northern Products, Inc. is a manufacturer of glow light products, located in Leominster, Massachusetts, USA. We offer a full line of in-stock and made-to-order Glow Sticks, Glow Necklaces and Bracelets, Earrings, and more. Our retail line is marketed under the trade name Funlight® Lightsticks. Our commercial fishing products are marketed under the trade names Atlantic Lights™, and Marker Lights™.

Northern Products is centrally located approximately 40 miles west of Boston and Logan International Airport. The company was established in 1993, and our mission since we began has been to provide our customers with a high quality product at a fair price.

Chemistry
Incandescence, as in a candle, involves the conversion of chemical energy to heat, followed by conversion of some of the heat energy to light. Chemical light or chemiluminescence differs in that chemical energy is converted directly to light without the involvement of heat. While the chemical reaction is highly sophisticated, the chemical lighting device is essentially a simple container designed to hold two separate solutions which when allowed to mix will emit light. The two solutions are separated by placing one in a very thin walled ampule. The second solution along with the ampule are then placed in a plastic tube and sealed. The lightstick is then activated by bending the plastic tube until the inner ampule breaks allowing the two solutions to mix. A typical light reaction can last 6 to 8 hours or more depending upon the formulation used.

Toxicity
The components used are non toxic, non corrosive and non irritating in nature. Neither component is caustic nor acidic. In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, it may be removed by flushing the areas well with water.
